Just curious. Welcome to Just Curious Media. This is Good Thinking, and I'm Jason Connell. This is the first time I've actually come on and spoken, besides doing an affirmation, on this show, Good Thinking, Positive Affirmations. And that's because we've just finished 115 episodes. I couldn't be more honored and proud of that. Fact, this thing started as just a concept and idea, and here we are, seven months later. So much content has come out every other day. And I just wanted to kind of come out and explain like a brief history. Like, where did this show come from? Where are we going? Who are we? So this is that opportunity. So months ago in January, I did like a demo of the first episode, of which it wasn't an episode. It was like, let me just see if I can lay this down with voiceover this affirmation and just see how it is. You know, so I recorded it, and I believe, let me go back to the date here. I recorded it on January 23rd, 2024. And that affirmation was I appreciate the gift of a new day and the opportunities it brings. So I did that, and then I went into post-production and thought I gotta have music, and how many times is it gonna be played? Because I record it once, I edit it once, and then you know, I just copy it either two or three times in the timeline. So I was playing with all these things, not really knowing what I had and what it was going to turn into. But uh it came out, you know, after further review, and I had a few friends listen to it and give their feedback, and it became good thinking. I was really happy with the result, and I wanted to share and put it out there because I do many other podcasts, but none in this style or format. And so it came out February 20th, 2024, and it launched a new show, a new show in the mental health and self-improvement space. And I'm so, so proud of it because just doing the show has helped me immensely. Reading affirmations, editing the affirmations, publishing the affirmations. I'm always consumed with affirmations, and the show again comes out every other day, so it's had such a positive impact on my life, which is what made me start the show in the first place. So I'll go further back. I was going through a tough time in life, as we all do, and we come across trials and tribulations, and life, you know, can sometimes be unkind. And I'm a very positive and driven person, but we all get knocked off our pedestal and challenged. And so I was looking for a show just like this. I went on the podcasting apps and was just looking for an affirmation show that just did the affirmation. I came across some very good ones, but there was a lot more talking, like I am now, on every episode, and then they would either read an affirmation or share an affirmation or multiple affirmations, and I think I just wanted the affirmation. Just a trigger to put me in a headspace, a positive headspace. And so if it did exist, I didn't come across it. And then, you know, six, twelve months later, I thought, oh yeah, you know, that still doesn't exist because I was just looking and thinking, I'd like to fill that void and help others as well as myself. And it's funny when I started this show, again, the first episode came out in February of this year, my life changed even more. I packed up everything I had. I was living on the East Coast and decided to move back to Los Angeles. And that's not an easy thing to do. It's your whole life, you're uprooting again. It's a long journey. I had to get pods and have a very strategic move, and there was a transition. Anyway, as I was producing the show, I was going through that. So sometimes I'm like in a motel driving across the country, editing the show. There were times when I recorded 10 episodes and something happened and I had to redo it, and some episodes were late. And so, you know, it helped me all the way through. And I'm happy to say that I'm now back in Los Angeles. I have a wonderful office studio for just curious media, and it's just been an incredible journey. And now I want to reflect on what I've created and really help good thinking, positive affirmations grow even more. And so I wanted to give some backstory on where I got the affirmations from thus far. And I sourced all 115 to this point in time from the day one app. I highly recommend checking the app out. It's fantastic. And I may continue to source from there, but I had come across this great post on their website, and it broke down these 115 into different categories. And so that was my jumping off point. And so if you ever look at the show notes for any and every episode, I have listed on there all of the different categories and what episodes they correlate to. And I also want to mention the artist outside the sky. Fantastic, beautiful tracks. And I've chosen five tracks for the first 115, and I rotate, as you can probably tell, through those five every episode. You know, if good thinking ever becomes a daily affirmation show, well, I would add two more tracks and uh do it every day. But right now, this is about as much as my current bandwidth can handle. But you never know with growth, and if we start to get patrons supporting the show, which you can do, you can support the show in the show notes. There's a button there, you can start supporting the show, which would be fantastic. It would offset our cost, and we want to keep making more. I have ideas and development of doing it in other languages, like Spanish version, a Chinese Mandarin version. I would get native speakers. Okay, I would. But, you know, I just think it's a wonderful thing to have this for people to tap into and to use. And so now it's about getting the word out more. We've gotten some really great traction just by coming back every other day and doing this. But we didn't do much, and I say we, I mean me, didn't do much social media at all for the first few months because everything else I was doing and moving, and I just wanted to make sure the show got to where it's at, and now it's time to really go to the next phase. And so I also just wanted to talk about affirmations in general. I read something else on the Day One app, and I want to read this. It's just a few paragraphs, but it just really explains what are affirmations. So here goes. Affirmations, sometimes called positive affirmations or self-affirmations, are statements or phrases that are repeated as a way to shift our thoughts, beliefs, and mindsets towards a more positive and empowering direction. A grounded and self-affirmation theory, affirmations address our inherent need for a positive self-identity and self-integrity. Affirmations can be used to boost confidence, improve self-esteem, enhance performance, promote well-being, and support personal growth in various aspects of life. The idea is that by consistently repeating affirmations, you can influence positive self-talk and encourage a shift in your thoughts, emotions, and actions. By embracing positive affirmations, we activate the brain's reward system that alleviates stress and foster self-improvement. Affirmations are most effective when practiced with intention, repetition, and belief. They can be spoken aloud, written down, or repeated silently in your mind. The key is to engage with the affirmations consistently and with a sense of conviction. By incorporating affirmations into your daily routine, you can challenge limiting beliefs and foster a more positive and empowered mindset. Now I could never have said that any better than it was written here, so I just wanted to repeat that and again give credit to day one for all that they do. But this is beautiful. Like I know what affirmations are, you probably do as well, but putting this definition behind it, they are just so powerful because the power of the mind can shift any and everything inside of you biologically, and it can have a true positive result, an impact on who you are throughout the day. It can shift your mood. Like I said when I was sharing about myself, we all go through things, and they don't have to be big things in life. It can just be, you know, I've got to be in traffic now, or I have this meeting at 10, and I've got to be present and clear-minded and just shed all the negativity or self-doubt. These are wonderful tools. And I'm not saying I have the answers to anything. I'm just trying to provide a service because I have a skill set that allows me to do so. And I hope this helps others. And this really invigorates me, motivates me, and excites me to do just that. So please continue to listen, share with others, go to our social media, follow us. Oh, and yes, subscribing to the show is huge. Giving us a five-star rating is big. And if you have the time and believe in what we're doing, leave us a five-star review. Those are equally important because it helps us stand out in the marketplace with other podcasts, and that will allow others to find us and to follow us and have more positivity in their lives as well. And like I said, on every episode, click on the show notes. You can see what category that particular affirmation belongs to or is part of. And you can support the show. You can click the button in there. Wonderful. You can donate, I think, as little as$3 a month. There's no contract, anything like that. It's all handled by our host, Buzz Sprout, which is always the number one or number two podcast host in the marketplace. And there's also a really cool feature on there that says send us a text message. Now it's a one-way conversation. We don't get your phone number, but you can always message us. You know, a shout-out, a comment, a question, and I could respond over the air if I ever start fielding questions or social media. You can contact us. And if you become a subscriber and help the show, who knows? We might start doing like personal affirmations for people, which would be just really cool, I think. So so much ahead, but I would not be here today if we didn't have followers already, knowing it's working. It means the world to me. So thank you so very much, and I hope you enjoy future episodes of Good Thinking.
